Education, Connection, and Community: More Than Real Estate with HŌM
Education, Connection, and Community: More Than Real Estate with HŌM
Real estate is about much more than purchasing a property, signing paperwork, and receiving the keys.
A home can affect nearly every part of a person’s financial life. It is where families grow, memories are made, equity is built, and future plans begin to take shape. That is why our goal at HŌM is not simply to help someone complete a real estate transaction. We want to provide education, resources, and relationships that continue long after closing day.
This summer, we are excited to highlight several ways we are working toward that goal, including our HŌM Financial Homeownership Lunch & Learn, a recent conversation on the Engineer My Future podcast, and our upcoming Summer Splash with HŌM at Cowabunga Bay.
Bringing HŌMownership Education Into the Workplace
Real estate and personal finances can feel overwhelming, especially when people are trying to sort through conflicting advice online.
Questions about credit, down payments, interest rates, home equity, investing, and preparing to sell often do not have a simple, one-size-fits-all answer. Every household has different goals, circumstances, and timelines.
The HŌM Financial HŌMownership Lunch & Learn was created to bring practical homeownership education directly into Utah workplaces.
Local businesses can invite the HŌM team to provide a free Lunch & Learn for their employees. The presentation is designed to be educational, conversational, and useful without becoming a high-pressure sales presentation.
Depending on the needs of the company and its employees, the Lunch & Learn can cover topics such as:
Preparing financially to purchase a first home
Understanding credit, financing, and down payment options
Knowing what expenses to expect during a home purchase
Using home equity to reach future financial goals
Deciding whether it is the right time to buy, sell, or stay
Preparing a home for a future sale
Understanding real estate as part of a long-term financial plan
Our goal is to help people better understand their options so they can make confident decisions, whether they are ready to move today, several years from now, or not at all.
Companies are often searching for meaningful employee benefits and educational opportunities. A homeownership Lunch & Learn can provide valuable information that employees may not know where else to find.
Best of all, the presentation can be adjusted to fit the company, the available time, and the questions employees are most interested in discussing.
Continuing the Conversation with Engineer My Future

Education does not have to happen only in a conference room or workplace.
Recently, Tobin and Connor had the opportunity to join Alex on the Engineer My Future podcast for a conversation about the financial and housing challenges facing younger generations.
The discussion explored whether members of Gen Z are entering adulthood at a disadvantage, especially when it comes to rising housing costs, interest rates, student debt, wages, and the pressure to keep up financially.
For many younger adults, purchasing a home can feel much more difficult than it did for previous generations. The goal of the conversation was not to create fear or discourage future homeowners. Instead, it focused on understanding today’s market, asking better questions, and developing a realistic plan based on each person’s individual goals.
Homeownership may not happen on the same timeline for everyone. Some people may be ready to purchase now, while others need more time to improve their credit, save money, reduce debt, or better understand the options available to them.
The important part is knowing that there are often more paths forward than people realize.
These are the same types of honest conversations we want to bring into local workplaces through the HŌM Financial Homeownership Lunch & Learn. Education cannot remove every challenge, but it can help people better understand their situation and feel more confident about their next step.

Relationships That Continue After Closing
Education is only one part of the HŌM experience.
We also believe that the relationship between a real estate advisor and a client should not disappear after the transaction is completed.
Closing day may be the end of the purchase or sale, but it is often the beginning of a much longer homeownership journey. Homeowners may eventually need recommendations for contractors, cleaners, lenders, repair professionals, moving resources, or other trusted service providers.
They may also have questions about their home’s value, refinancing, investment opportunities, remodeling, selling, or purchasing another property.
We want our clients to know that they can continue reaching out to us for help, information, and connections long after they receive their keys.
Our client appreciation events are another way we stay connected and say thank you to the people who have trusted us with such an important part of their lives.
Summer Splash with HŌM
Our next client event is coming up quickly, and we are excited to spend an evening with our clients, friends, and families at Cowabunga Bay in Draper.

Summer Splash with HŌM
Tuesday, July 28, 2026
6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Cowabunga Bay in Draper, Utah
Guests will be able to enjoy the water slides, relax in the lazy river, spend time with family, and connect with members of the HŌM community.
One of the best parts of the evening is the opportunity to enjoy Cowabunga Bay during a private event, with more time in the water and fewer lines.
Whether we helped you purchase your first home, sell a longtime family property, invest in real estate, or simply answer a few questions along the way, we would love to see you there.
Be sure to RSVP so we can plan for everyone attending.

Helping People Feel More at HŌM
At first glance, a workplace Lunch & Learn, a podcast conversation, and a night at a water park may seem like three very different things.
However, they all represent what we want HŌM to be.
We want to educate people before they are ready to make a move. We want to have honest conversations about the challenges people face. We want to guide clients through the buying or selling process. We want to remain available after closing. We also want to create opportunities for clients, friends, and families to stay connected and enjoy life together.
Whether we are helping employees understand homeownership during their lunch break, discussing the future of housing on a podcast, or spending an evening with client families at Cowabunga Bay, our goal remains the same: to provide value, build lasting relationships, and help people feel more at HŌM.
